The law firm of King & Navins, P.C. was established by John H. King, Richard R. Navins and Peter L. Navins in June, 1989, following a five-year affiliation with Haussermann, Davison & Shattuck, a mid-size downtown Boston law firm. The firm essentially is a re-birth of King & Navins, A Professional Corporation, the firm name and style under which Messrs. King and Navins practiced prior to joining Haussermann, Davison & Shattuck.
King & Navins, P.C., and its predecessor, King & Navins, A Professional Corporation, were formed with a view to providing clients with a viable alternative to the downtown Boston law firm. The firm’s original mission was to offer legal services comparable in quality to those historically thought to be available only via a downtown Boston law firm and to do so from offices situated in an easily accessible suburban location and in a more cost-efficient manner.
Today, the firm’s mission remains the same; however, its practice focus has narrowed significantly. Presently, the firm’s practice is limited to the area of trusts and estates and its necessary incidents, including pre-marital legal counsel and advice, residential real estate, closely-held businesses and charitable giving. The firm’s attorneys minister to both individuals and families in the context of estate planning, including long-term care and special needs, estate and gift taxation, the settlement of estates, the administration of trusts, pre-marital agreements, probate law and litigation. Upon request, the firm’s attorneys also serve in various fiduciary capacities. As trusted advisors, the firm’s attorneys are committed to delivering legal services of exceptional quality with the highest degree of personal attention and professional integrity. Ours is a caring culture dedicated to establishing long-term relationships and to collaborating with clients to best achieve their articulated goals. With more than one hundred years of combined service at the bar, the firm’s attorneys bring to bear a vast wealth of both professional and practical experience.
