Practice Focus

Mike focuses his practice to estate planning, estate administration, and trust and estate litigation matters. He counsels clients regarding sophisticated planning strategies designed to minimize gift, estate, generation-skipping, and income taxes; and he drafts the documents necessary to implement the selected plan. He assists personal representatives in administering estates, including probate filings and preparation of estate tax returns. He negotiates and drafts prenuptial agreements. Finally, he represents parties in will contests, contested probate account proceedings, disputes regarding trust administration, and other trust and estate litigation matters.

Background

Prior to joining King & Navins in 1995, Mike was affiliated with Goldstein & Manello, P.C. in Boston for nine years, as an associate from 1986 through 1990, and as a partner from 1991 through 1995. He was an associate at Chaplin & Milstein in Boston from 1985 through 1986, and at White, Inker, Aronson, Connelly & Norton in Boston from 1979 through 1983. He is the author of a well-known handbook, Estate Administration in Massachusetts (Matthew Bender and Co.), which he has updated annually since its first publication in 1985.
